Submissions for Issue 5: Open

✧ OPEN THEME ✧

✧ We aim to promote the diverse voices of artists from different backgrounds and experiences, going beyond conventional interpretations. In Issue Three, we are looking for the awkward, weird, and unique, so really send us anything -- unfiltered and all!

✧ We publish previously unpublished pieces by those ages 14-23 (but if you do not fit within the age range, don't refrain from submitting!). We maintain First World Electronic Serial Rights and Non-Exclusive Archival Rights. All rights revert back to contributors upon publication. We also welcome international submissions!

✧ Simultaneous submissions are allowed! If your piece is accepted elsewhere (congrats!), please email us at beneaththemasklitmag@gmail.com to withdraw your submission.

✧ Our response time is 2 to 4 weeks. If you do not receive a response within that time frame, feel free to email us regarding the status of your submission.

The current submission cycle will end on AUGUST 10th.

Guidelines

Writing

PROSE:

Includes creative nonfiction, fiction, flash fiction, and etc.
No more than 5,000 words
One prose per submission

POETRY:

No more than 100 lines per poem
1-3 poems per submission

We are open to other forms of writing as well (just send it our way!), but please keep the word count under 5,000 words

Art

ARTWORKS:

1-5 pieces of artwork per submission period
Includes digital, watercolor, acrylic, 3-D art, etc.

Photography

PHOTOGRAPHY:

1-5 photos can be submitted per submission

Other

Feel free to submit other mediums and genres in both art and writing even if they are not listed on the submission form! However, make sure to detail your medium in the form.

Note: Unfortunately, we do not offer any pay for accepted submissions as we are a new, emerging magazine. However, we hope to change that in the near future!
